I, Daniel, was troubled by all I had seen, and my visions terrified me.
Daniel 7:15
When the depressing state of the past, present and future overwhelms you, adjust your focus with God’s Word, the only method that will be effective.
- When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
 Psalm 56:3 (ESV)
- You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

- Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
 Luke 21:28 (ESV)Â

 Romans 8:6 (ESV)
- as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
 2 Corinthians 4:18 (ESV)Â
- Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

What if it doesn’t seem to be working?
- Make yourself adjust your focus.
- Boss yourself.
- Fake it until you feel.
I love this quote from Warren Wiersbe about the depressing state of our world… our culture… our future.
“When the course of world history depresses you, look at events from heaven’s point of view.”
I don’t have to be troubled or terrified by events that are happening, have happened, or will happen, but if I am, boss my feelings until they submit to the truth.
