So Ahab went home angry and sullen because of Nabothâs answer. The king went to bed with his face to the wall and refused to eat!
âWhatâs the matter?â his wife Jezebel asked him. âWhatâs made you so upset that youâre not eating?â
âI asked Naboth to sell me his vineyard or trade it, but he refused!â Ahab told her.
âAre you the king of Israel or not?â Jezebel demanded. âGet up and eat something, and donât worry about it. Iâll get you Nabothâs vineyard!â
1 Kings 21:4-7
But the LORD said to Elijah, âGo down to meet King Ahab of Israel, who rules in Samaria. He will be at Nabothâs vineyard in Jezreel, claiming it for himself. Give him this message: âThis is what the LORD says: Wasnât it enough that you killed Naboth? Must you rob him, too? Because you have done this, dogs will lick your blood at the very place where they licked the blood of Naboth!ââ
1 Kings 21:17-19
Stand for truth and integrity, even when it is costly. Use influence wisely. Trust that God sees injustice, and will act in His time.Â
