Scripture:

ACTS 8:1-9:43

Always Ask Questions

The man replied, How can I, unless someone instructs me? And he urged Philip to come up into the carriage and sit with him.

Acts 8:31

My Takeaways

Something Old

Questions are good, any question.
Questions are a sign of growth.
Questions are a sign of humility.

To whom do I direct my questions?

First: Holy Spirit

Ask for

  • Supernatural wisdom, guidance, and direction.
  • Eyes to see.
  • Ears to hear.
  • Mind to understand.
  • Spirit to receive.
  • Courage to obey.
  • Spirit to discern.
  • Peace while you wait.

Second: Only if the Lord leads, a Bible-believing, Bible-living friend.

How do I see, hear, and understand?
How do I receive, obey, and discern?

Know God. Know Jesus. Know the Spirit.

How do I know God, Jesus, and the Spirit?

  • By reading His Word.
  • By salvation through Jesus.
  • By obeying His instructions.

Something New

Instantly something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he got up and was baptized.
Acts 9:18

Paul had problems with his vision. He enlisted others to write his letters. I wonder if this Damascus Road experience had anything to do with his vision difficulty later in life.

Something to do

Ask questions; it’s how I grow.
