The Tomb: A Place Of Hope

But as they arrived, they looked up and saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled aside.

Mark 16:4

My Takeaways

Something Old

The tomb was left open wide, not so Jesus could be let out; the stone was rolled away so others could see the hope of eternity lives.

Because the stone was rolled away, and the tomb is STILL empty, we have hope.

The stone has been rolled away on the:

  • Dream you thought had died
  • Prayer you thought was forgotten
  • Relationship you thought was over
  • Plan you thought was forgotten
  • Loved one you thought had not accepted Christ as Savior
  • Marriage you thought couldn’t be salvaged
  • Failure you thought couldn’t be redeemed

Don’t roll the stone back over the tomb. He’s alive, because He lives, so does all hope for all things lost, broken, forgotten, and unrealized.

  • For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O LORD, from my youth.
    Psalm 71:5 (ESV)
  • Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
    Romans 12:12 (ESV)
  • May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
    Romans 15:13 (ESV)
