Have Faith In God

I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.

Mark 11:23

My Takeaways

Something Old

“Nor should we interpret Mark 11:24 to mean, ‘If you pray hard enough and really believe, God is obligated to answer your prayer no matter what you ask.’ That kind of faith is not faith in God; rather it is nothing but faith in faith, or faith in feelings.”  - Warren Wiersbe

  • Do I have faith in my faith? (My quiet time with God and my commitment to my relationship with Him)
  • Do I have faith in my feelings? (The emotions and goosebumps that accompany my prayer?
  • Do I have faith in God? (Trust in God and confidence that His response to my mountain moving prayer will be what is best for me.)

When our faith is truly in God and in God alone how and when He moves the mountain will be irrelevant to us.

Can faith really move a mountain?

Something New

Jesus visited Bethany often. I wonder if He stayed with Mary, Martha, and Lazarus each time.

Something to do

Have faith in God.
