Follow: to follow, to accompany

1. (properly) to be in the same way with, i.e. to accompany
2. (specially) to accompany as a disciple

To the disciples He said, 

• The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Come, follow me.”
  John 1:43

To the rich man He said, 

• Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
  Matthew 19:21

To the crowd He said,

• If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine.
  Matthew 10:38

• Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.

To the “Anyones,” He said

• Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.

To those who desired to walk in light and have life, He said

• Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

To those who would be called His sheep, He said

• My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
  John 10:27

To Peter about the kind of death he would endure, He said

• Jesus said this to let him know by what kind of death he would glorify God. Then Jesus told him, “Follow me.”
  John 21:19

In a world where “likes” and “follows” seem to determine value, worth, and importance we should ask ourselves:

Who do I follow?

Who do I accompany?

And they left their nets at once and followed him
Matthew 4:20

Do I believe because I see or before I see?

The official pleaded, “Lord, please come now before my little boy dies.”

Then Jesus told him, “Go back home. Your son will live!” And the man believed what Jesus said and started home.
John 4:49-50

Follow only Jesus.
