But even if He doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.

What an incredible declaration?

They knew God’s power, but they also knew that they must do what was right even if God did not do what they expect or hope Him to do.

How do you respond to God when “He doesn’t?”

• Turn from God.
• Turn to others.
• Turn into myself.

Even if He doesn’t, we can count on these:

God’s plan is not about my comfort, but His renown.

• Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.
  Job 13:15a (NKJV)

God may not remove the fire, but it will stand with us while we are there.

• Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
  2 Corinthians 12:8-9 

God will deliver us, either from the fire or through the fire.

• When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.
  Isaiah 43:2

God wanted King Nebuchadnezzar to know what was in his own heart. What’s in my own heart? Would I really want to see my heart?

And it is not because I am wiser than anyone else that I know the secret of your dream, but because God wants you to understand what was in your heart.
