Today's Sponsor of the day is

Scripture:

2 KINGS 20:1-11, ISAIAH 38:1-8, 2 CHRONICLES 32:24:31, ISAIAH 38:9-22, 2 KINGS 20:12-19, ISAIAH 39:1-8

Compromise Has A Cost

Hezekiah received the Babylonian envoys and showed them everything in his treasure-houses—the silver, the gold, the spices, and the aromatic oils. He also took them to see his armory and showed them everything in his royal treasuries! There was nothing in his palace or kingdom that Hezekiah did not show them.

2 Kings 20:13

My Takeaways

Something Old

How desperate am I to have:

  • The endorsement of the world?
  • The approval of others?
  • The acceptance in the in-crowd?
  • The promotion at my job?
  • The position in the community/church?

Consequences follow compromise. And sadly, the consequences of my sin and bad decisions may fall on those I love.

Count the cost before I make the compromise.

Something New

What would I do with more time?

I will add fifteen years to your life, and I will rescue you and this city from the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my own honor and for the sake of my servant David.’”
2 Kings 20:6

Something to do

Count the cost before I make the compromise.
