Imbibe:

• to take or receive into the mind, as knowledge, ideas, or the like
• to absorb or soak up, as water, light, or heat

Without our awareness, little by little, we:

• Take in our mind the knowledge, ideas, and behavior of those we keep company with
• Absorb their attitudes and adapt their beliefs

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
Proverbs 4:23

Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you.

Choose my company carefully. Choose those who: 

• Are like-minded
• Are like Christ
• Spur you on to become less like the world, and more like Christ.

It’s better to have no friends than the wrong friends.
