Today's Sponsor of the day is

Scripture:

PSALM 144-145, PSALM 88-89

Each Generation

I will exalt you, my God and King,
and praise your name forever and ever.
I will praise you every day;
Yes, I will praise you forever.
Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise!
No one can measure his greatness.

Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts;
let them proclaim your power.

Psalm 145:1-4

My Takeaways

Something Old

And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Something New

  • Psalm 145 is a great reminder for believers to both receive and pass the baton.
  • Faith is not meant to be private.
  • Our experiences with God– His power, faithfulness, and love– are not only for our own encouragement but are stories to be told and shared.
  • Silence about God’s works risks losing faith’s relevance in the next generation.
  • Teaching is by testimony.
  • Psalm 145 emphasizes telling and proclaiming…active sharing.
  • Children and young believers need to hear real lived experiences of God’s faithfulness.
  • We need to share stories, personal testimonies, and Biblical narratives of God’s power.
  • Faith is a relay race.
  • What we receive, we must pass on.
  • Each generation is a link in God’s ongoing redemptive story.
  • Share your testimony.
  • Encourage others to speak of God’s goodness in their lives.
  • Create intentional moments to keep the flame of faith burning.
  • For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
    2 Peter 1:16
    ‍
  • Living Proof

Something to do

May we be faithful stewards of the story of God…and pass it on.
Come and see…go and tell.
